Editing
Sometimes
changes are needed after the job is sent. We support most popular desktop
publishing software packages and, in most cases, we can make changes
to your files upon request.
Preflighting
Services
When preparing a file for output, some problems can be easily identified
and fixed, such as missing fonts or images. However, some potential
problems are more difficult and time consuming to pinpoint. However,
there is a solution: Request "preflight" with your digital
output order. Using specialized preflight software, our technicians
can electronically analyze your file to find potential problems that
are difficult to find even to the trained eye. This extra step can help
ensure that your job isn't delayed by having to re-output your file.
Trapping
Trapping
is the intentional overlapping of colors in a printed piece. If your
job is not properly trapped, misregistration can cause unprinted paper
to appear between touching colors or inks on your piece. Austin Graphics'
technicians can help you avoid registration problems on press by trapping
your digital file before film is imaged. Let us help you make your project
easier to run on press-ask our technicians to trap your job before it
goes to film.
Imposition
If your project involves book or pamphlet pages or a large press run, chances are the order and position in which the pages appear in your file don't correspond to the layout your printer needs to print your job. No problem, just ask Austin Graphics to impose your job. We'll need to know how your printer plans to print the project, for instance, "work and turn" or "sheetwise". Once we have the imposition order we'll layout your document so each page is in just the right position. The result: the pages will be properly oriented for printing, dramatically reducing the amount of stripping required by the printer.
